Travel
Travel - why do we do it? There are so many reasons - the great adventure; the great unknown; the great known; to experience something different; to visit people; to learn things; to eat things; to fulfil a long-held wish; to experience other cultures; to improve language skills; to see what is out there.

We travel to see different things, things we’ve always dreamed of seeing, things we want to see again and to know there is a bigger world than the bubble in which many insist on living. If things weren’t different in the places we visit, we wouldn’t travel and we’d all sit at home watching the Discovery Channel! One of the best pieces of advice when travelling is to remember it is not like home because you are not at home! It seems simple but this notion is often forgotten in the middle of an issue/problem/communication breakdown. Along the way you are going to find the most amazing things, and you’re also going to be completely baffled by others. This is the joyous thing about travelling - whether you're in your own country but a new city, or in a place where you don't speak the language but feel right at home, the discovery of new things should always bring wonder and happiness. If it doesn't then maybe it is actually time to stay in and watch those documentaries instead!
When you travel, remember a foreign country is not designed to make you comfortable. It is designed to make its own people comfortable – Clifton Faidman
